Nepal observes national mourning as flash flood toll crosses 1,340

Nepal held a national day of mourning on September 7, the 13th day after flash floods hit Rasuwa and nearby districts on August 26. Over 1,340 people died, nearly 5,000 are missing—including 589 foreigners—and about 7,500 houses were destroyed, displacing 32,000 families. Rescue teams, including from India, are still working.
