Old Regime

New Regime is the default from FY 2023-24. Opt for Old Regime when total deductions + exemptions exceed the break-even threshold.
Old Regime: ₹50,000 standard deduction. New Regime: ₹75,000 (increased in Budget 2024, effective from FY 2024-25).
Salaried employees can switch between regimes each year. Business income earners can switch only once from Old to New Regime.
